AEK and Fenerbahçe delivered a thrilling preseason matchup, filled with dramatic momentum swings, clutch plays, and multiple lead changes that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
The game ultimately ended in a 102–102 tie after overtime, as Šarūnas Jasikevičius opted not to push for a second overtime, leaving both teams to share the spoils.
Overtime proved particularly tense. Dimitris Flionis briefly put AEK ahead 102–100, but missed chances from both Flionis and Armando Bacot gave Fenerbahçe an opening.
Tarik Biberović seized the moment, nailing a game-tying basket with just 0.7 seconds remaining. Frank Bartley’s potential game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer did not find its mark, cementing the draw.
AEK, coached by Dragan Šakota, showcased resilience throughout the contest.
“We showed heart and didn’t give up,” Bartley said after the game. He led the team with 30 points and nine assists, while Adonis Arms contributed 21 points.
Chris Silva added 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists, and RaiQuan Gray chipped in 13 points along with seven rebounds.
For Fenerbahçe, Biberović topped the scoring charts with 24 points, closely followed by Devin Hall with 22 points.
Wade Baldwin also made his mark with 17 points and six assists, while Armando Bacot and Brandon Boston each added 10 points, with Bacot recording 11 rebounds to secure a double-double.
