Trevelin Queen is reportedly set to continue his professional career overseas, signing with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), according to Dario Skerletic of Sportando.
Skerletic cites Chinese journalist Zhang Duo, who credited the Chinese sports outlet Zhibo8. The official Guangdong roster page on Zhibo8 already lists Queen as a member of the team, signaling that the move is likely finalized.
Queen has long been a standout in the G League, where he earned both the regular season and Finals MVP awards in 2022.
Last season, he made a career-high 31 NBA appearances while on a two-way contract with the Orlando Magic, averaging 4.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 steal across 13.9 minutes per game.
Despite his contributions, Queen struggled with shooting efficiency, connecting on just 38.1% of his field-goal attempts and 28.6% of his three-pointers.
The 25-year-old became an unrestricted free agent earlier this summer after Orlando declined to extend a qualifying offer. With four years of NBA service under his belt, Queen is no longer eligible to sign another two-way contract.
Prior to his time in Orlando from 2023 to 2025, he had brief stints with the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers.
If officially confirmed by Guangdong, Queen will be the second player with a two-way deal from last season to join the CBA club in recent weeks.
Former Brooklyn Nets player Yongxi “Jacky” Cui signed with the Southern Tigers near the end of August, making Queen’s move part of a recent trend of CBA teams bolstering their rosters with emerging talent from the G League.
This new chapter gives Queen an opportunity to play a larger role internationally and showcase the skills that made him a standout in the G League, while also expanding the growing bridge between NBA-affiliated players and the Chinese league.
