The Sacramento Kings are confident that Jonathan Kuminga is interested in joining their team, and the Golden State Warriors may revisit a sign-and-trade scenario if protections on the draft pick are removed, according to Sam Amick.

Earlier in the summer, the Warriors had paused discussions with the Kings and other teams, but there remains the possibility of negotiations resurfacing as the trade deadline approaches.

Sacramento has reportedly offered veteran guard Malik Monk along with a protected 2030 first-round pick to Golden State, while agreeing to sign Kuminga to a three-year, $63 million contract.

The primary sticking point in the negotiations continues to be the protections attached to the draft pick.

Sources indicate that if the Kings were to remove all protections, the Warriors could be more inclined to reconsider the deal, opening the door for a potential agreement between the two sides.
