The Toronto Raptors have signed and waived guard Tyreke Key, according to Blake Murphy.

Murphy explained that the move mirrors Toronto’s decision with Quincy Guerrier a day earlier, designed to provide Raptors 905 players with Exhibit 0 deals that give them elevated salaries while securing their G League rights.

Key, a former Tennessee guard, went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft before joining Toronto’s G League affiliate. He played 26 games for Raptors 905 during the 2024–25 season, averaging 5.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 17.3 minutes per contest.

The 6-foot-3 guard shot 50 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from three-point range, giving the 905 a reliable bench option throughout the campaign.

By signing and waiving Key, the Raptors ensured that he will remain with Raptors 905 in the upcoming G League season. These types of transactions are common in the NBA as teams look to strengthen their developmental pipeline while managing roster flexibility.

Toronto is entering the 2025–26 season with a new-look front office following the departure of longtime executive Masai Ujiri after the 2025 NBA Draft. The team drafted Collin Murray-Boyles and Alijah Martin.
