Israeli center Roman Sorkin has drawn interest from several NBA teams following his recent performances with Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Israeli national team.

According to Ian Begley of SNY, the 28-year-old big man has been monitored by the Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat. Despite being under contract with Maccabi, his strong form has made him a target for potential NBA opportunities.

Sorkin was one of the most efficient bigs in the EuroLeague last season. He averaged 12.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game across 33 appearances, while shooting 57.7 percent from the field. His ability to stretch the floor with improved three-point range also boosted his value.

At EuroBasket 2025, the 6-foot-10 forward/center delivered consistent production. In six games, he posted 16.5 points and 6 rebounds per contest while shooting 51.4 percent overall and 78.3 percent from the free throw line.

One of his best outings came in the group stage against Iceland, where he scored 31 points on 68 percent shooting. He later added 18 points against Belgium and recorded a double-digit rebounding performance versus Slovenia.

In the Round of 16, Sorkin tallied 15 points and 6 rebounds against Greece. Although Israel was eliminated, his impact on both ends of the floor reinforced his reputation as one of the competition’s top frontcourt players.

Sorkin has spent the past four seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv, becoming a mainstay in their frontcourt rotation. He played a career-high 770 minutes in the 2024-25 EuroLeague season, finishing with 427 total points and nearly 400 rebounds across his tenure.
