Olivier-Maxence Prosper officially joins the Grizzlies on a two-way deal, the team confirmed via Twitter.

Earlier reports from ESPN’s Shams Charania noted that the 23-year-old Canadian forward had been considering multiple offers before choosing Memphis, with agents Todd Ramasar and Mike Simonetta confirming the plan.

Charania added that Memphis had expressed trade interest prior to Dallas waiving and stretching Prosper’s contract last Friday.

The Mavericks opted not to part with one of their remaining second-round picks to offload his salary, instead stretching it across three years, creating roughly $1 million in annual cap hits through 2027/28.

This move helped Dallas create room under the second tax apron to re-sign Dante Exum.

Prosper, a 6’8″ forward, spent one season at Clemson and two at Marquette before being selected 24th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft.

His first two NBA seasons saw limited playing time, with averages of 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds over 10 minutes per game in 92 contests, shooting .396/.260/.658.

In the G League with the Texas Legends during his rookie year, Prosper showed promise, averaging 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.9 steals per game on .498/.418/.762 shooting across 25 games.

The two-way deal allows him to further prove himself at the NBA level while continuing development in Memphis’ system.
