Two-way forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper has recently stepped into a larger role with the Memphis Grizzlies, starting five consecutive games and even logging minutes as a small-ball center.

Since Feb. 6, he has averaged 15.2 points per game while shooting an efficient .628 from the field, .471 from three-point range and .867 from the free-throw line.

Grant Afseth of Dallas Hoops Journal notes that Prosper has only six games of eligibility remaining on his two-way contract, but his recent performance is strengthening his case to earn a promotion to Memphis’ standard roster.

Head coach Tuomas Iisalo praised the forward’s energy and development.

“All of O-Max’s energy is just contagious,” Iisalo said. “He’s one of the highest-motor players in the whole league. He’s had to basically shift up a position or two spots and is doing a great job.

“He’s improved his shooting from the outside and is shooting with a lot of confidence. … How he’s improving in the little facets of the game overall, it’s a testament to the hard work he’s putting in.”

Prosper has played 3 seasons for the Mavericks and Grizzlies. He has averaged 4.6 points and 2.5 rebounds in 128 regular-season games.
