The Dallas Mavericks are actively working to trade Olivier-Maxence Prosper as part of their efforts to clear the necessary roster space to finalize the signing of Dante Exum.

Prosper, who was selected 24th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Marquette University, played a supporting role for the Mavericks last season.

Over the course of 52 games, he averaged 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 11.2 minutes per game. Reports first surfaced in late June indicating that the Mavericks were considering moving Prosper in a trade to create flexibility on their roster.

Dante Exum, meanwhile, has already spent the last two seasons with Dallas. In the previous season, he contributed an average of 8.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists across 18.6 minutes in 20 games.

The Mavericks and Exum reached an agreement on a one-year deal on July 2nd, though the contract has not yet been officially finalized.

Completing Prosper’s trade would free up the necessary space to officially bring Exum back into the fold, giving Dallas added depth and versatility in their backcourt.
