The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to bring free agent forward Garrison Brooks into their organization, according to his agent Darrell Comer, as reported by NBA insider Chris Haynes.

While the specific contract details have not been disclosed, it is expected to be an Exhibit 10 deal.

Brooks’ returning rights were recently acquired by the Pelicans’ G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron.

This means that if Brooks signs an Exhibit 10 contract and is waived before the regular season begins, he could earn a bonus of up to $85,300 by spending at least 60 days with the Squadron, in addition to his standard G League salary.

The 26-year-old Brooks went undrafted out of Mississippi State in 2022. He played his rookie G League season with the Westchester Knicks, had a brief stint in Korea in 2023, and has spent most of the last two seasons with BC Wolves in Lithuania.

During 18 EuroCup games last season for the Wolves, Brooks averaged 7.1 points and 4.1 rebounds in 20.3 minutes per contest.

In his prior G League season with Westchester, he posted averages of 13.6 points and 11.6 rebounds across 37 games, playing over 30 minutes per game.

In July, Spencer Davies of RG.org noted that Brooks participated in a Las Vegas pro day with the CSE agency and was drawing attention as a potential NBA training camp candidate.
