Talen Horton-Tucker could be the next NBA player to take his talents to Europe.
According to BasketNews, EuroLeague champions Fenerbahce Istanbul are finalizing a deal with the 24-year-old guard. The former Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls player is reportedly weighing two options — signing with Fenerbahce or securing another spot on an NBA roster.
Horton-Tucker entered the league in 2019 as a second-round pick of the Lakers, where he developed into a rotational piece during his first three seasons. He earned an NBA championship ring in 2020 as part of the Lakers’ title run in the Orlando bubble.
After three years in Los Angeles, he was traded to the Utah Jazz, where he posted his best statistical season in 2022-23, averaging 10.7 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds across 65 games. His ability to handle the ball and create offense made him a useful secondary playmaker.
This past year, Horton-Tucker played 58 games for the Bulls, averaging 6.5 points in 12.5 minutes per contest. While efficient in limited action, he struggled to secure a consistent role in Chicago’s backcourt.
Over his six NBA seasons, Horton-Tucker has averaged 9.2 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.6 rebounds in 305 career games. His versatility as both a guard and wing makes him a strong candidate to thrive in the EuroLeague.
If finalized, the move to Istanbul would give Fenerbahce another proven scorer to add alongside Scottie Wilbekin and Wade Baldwin IV. The Turkish powerhouse captured the EuroLeague title in 2025 and has continued strengthening its roster for a repeat run.
For Horton-Tucker, the decision comes at a key stage of his career. At just 24 years old, he still has NBA upside, but a starring role in Europe could provide the playing time and platform to showcase his full skill set.
The final decision is expected soon, as both Fenerbahce and NBA teams finalize rosters ahead of the upcoming season.
