France capped off their EuroBasket 2025 preparations in impressive fashion, pulling off a 92-77 victory over Greece in Athens, despite the hosts being led by superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The win not only showcased France’s depth and resilience but also sealed a perfect warm-up campaign. Vincent Collet’s team finished their tune-up games with a spotless 5-0 record, joining Serbia and Finland as the only nations to go unbeaten in their preparation schedules.

The contest was far from one-sided early on. Greece, energized by their home crowd, went into halftime with a 49-43 advantage, forcing France to regroup during the break. The response was emphatic.

France stormed out of the locker room with a blistering 7-0 run to flip the momentum, eventually taking control with a 71-61 lead at the end of the third quarter. From there, they kept Greece at bay, never allowing the hosts to mount a serious comeback.

Theo Maledon stood out as the leading scorer for France, delivering 16 points on perfect efficiency – hitting all four of his field goal attempts and knocking down six free throws without a miss.

Around him, France’s balanced roster provided contributions across the board, underlining their status as one of the tournament’s top contenders.

For Greece, Antetokounmpo did his best to carry the load, finishing with 20 points, including 12 made free throws, but it wasn’t enough to prevent their third loss in seven warm-up games.

Dimitris Itoudis’ squad ends preparation with a 4-3 record and will now shift focus to the EuroBasket group stage, beginning their Group C journey in Limassol, Cyprus.
