The countdown is on for Israel’s national basketball team as they gear up for EuroBasket 2025 in Poland. With only eight days remaining until their opening game against Iceland, the Israel Basketball Association has unveiled the squad that will compete in the tournament.
Coach Ariel Beit Halachmi finalized the roster after a week of difficult decisions, trimming the extended lineup down to 12 players.
Among the final cuts were center Idan Zalmanson from Hapoel Holon and point guard Roi Huber from Hapoel Jerusalem. Earlier, Gor Lavi and Noam Yaakov, who had been part of the team during the preparation period, were also released and will stay in Israel while the tournament unfolds.
The 12-man roster now stands as follows: Deni Avdija, Ethan Burg, Tomer Ginat, Nimrod Levi, Yam Madar, Rafi Menco, Khadeen Carrington, Guy Palatin, Itay Segev, Roman Sorkin, Bar Timor, and Yovel Zoosman.
Israel’s preparation for EuroBasket included four warm-up games, with mixed results. The team suffered a loss to Estonia, rebounded with a strong win over Cyprus, edged past Greece, and fell to Montenegro in their final pre-tournament match.
Guard Yam Madar made his return in that last game following an injury and is expected to be fully fit for the competition.
