Olympiacos officially announced the contract extension of Giannoulis Larentzakis, securing the Greek guard’s presence in Piraeus until the summer of 2028.
The 31-year-old swingman, who first joined the club in 2020, has become an integral figure in the red-and-white lineup – not only for his contributions on the court but also for his energy, grit, and strong bond with the fans.
Larentzakis made it clear that his journey with Olympiacos is far from over, underlining both his gratitude to the club’s leadership and his determination to keep pushing forward at the highest level.
“When I first joined the team, I wanted to prove that I could stand and contribute at the highest level. I think I managed to do that. I was giving and I will continue to give 100% of myself, and I am very happy that I have the opportunity to keep doing this for the coming years,” Larentzakis said, thanking presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos for their trust.
Since donning the Olympiacos jersey four years ago, Larentzakis has forged a deep relationship with the club and its supporters.
Known for his intensity, defensive effort, and fearless spirit, he highlighted that what matters most to him is the human connection he has built along the way.
“What connects me so strongly with this team is, above all, the people. I have received so much love over the years. I believe my greatest achievement is that they have understood my character and identify with my passion, my energy, and the fact that I always fight for the best.”
Looking ahead, Larentzakis remains focused on the one goal that continues to drive Olympiacos: capturing the EuroLeague title.
The Reds have come close in recent seasons, but the dream remains unfinished business.
“My goal and at the same time my dream is to win the EuroLeague. We’ve reached the brink many times, we have fought hard, and we will continue to fight for it with all our strength. I want to ask the fans to keep loving us and supporting us. The fans are the ones who give us energy in every game, and only together will we be able to achieve the ultimate goal, which is to celebrate a EuroLeague title.”
With this extension, Olympiacos not only secures one of its most passionate players but also reaffirms the continuity of a project built on dedication, identity, and ambition.
