The Los Angeles Lakers have emerged at the center of a massive offseason trade scenario. Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus proposed a five-team deal that would reshape multiple franchises.

In the hypothetical trade, the Lakers would send LeBron James to the Dallas Mavericks along with Dalton Knecht and several draft picks to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Los Angeles would receive Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee, giving Luka Doncic a high-profile teammate. Olivier-Maxence Prosper and Tyrese Martin would also join the Lakers in the deal.

The Mavericks would acquire LeBron James, Bronny James, Drew Timme, Andre Jackson Jr., and Tyler Smith. The Bucks would get RJ Barrett, PJ Washington, Caleb Martin, Naji Marshall, and multiple future first-round picks from the Lakers.

Toronto would receive Daniel Gafford and a $13.3 million trade exception, while Brooklyn would pick up Dalton Knecht, Jaden Hardy, and Dwight Powell.

The Lakers’ 2025–26 roster already includes Deandre Ayton, Marcus Smart, Luka Doncic, Rui Hachimura, and Austin Reaves. Adding Giannis would create a new dynamic alongside Doncic in the starting lineup.

While the trade remains speculative, Pincus’ proposal has sparked discussion about the Lakers’ championship window. Pairing Giannis with Doncic could position the franchise as a contender for years.
