Maccabi Tel Aviv has officially added Uros Trifunovic to its roster, signing the 24-year-old Serbian guard-forward to a two-year contract.

The 2.01-meter wing joins the Israeli powerhouse after a strong season with Tofas Bursa in Turkey, where he showcased his shooting and versatility across both domestic and European competitions.

Trifunovic averaged 11.4 points per game in the Turkish Super League, hitting nearly 40% from beyond the arc.

In the FIBA Europe Cup, his three-point shooting rose to 42.9%, along with 10.5 points, 2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 22 minutes per game.

“We’re happy to have Uros joining us,” said Maccabi head coach Oded Kattash. “He’s a young player who brings quality on both ends of the court, high-level shooting, and will give us additional depth and balance at the forward position.”

Trifunovic is a product of Partizan Belgrade, where he spent six seasons, including two loan spells at Zemun and Mega early in his career.

In 2023, he was part of the squad that won the ABA League and logged 54 EuroLeague appearances with Partizan over two seasons.

His performances in the Serbian League playoffs in 2024—where he averaged 11.5 points and 5.3 rebounds—highlighted his growth and ability to contribute under pressure.

“This is the perfect conclusion to a week of major announcements,” said Maccabi GM Claudio Coldebella. “Uros brings a relentless work ethic and has already proven himself at high levels.”

Trifunovic is also a member of Serbia’s extended national team roster and has 11 senior caps.

He won gold at the U18 European Championship in 2018 and was recently called up for Serbia’s preparations ahead of EuroBasket 2025.

Born in Belgrade in December 2000, he comes from a basketball family—his father, Aleksandar Trifunovic, is a former professional player and respected coach in European basketball.

Now, the younger Trifunovic will take his next step with a EuroLeague contender looking to reload after a busy offseason.

“I’m very happy to join such a historic club,” Trifunovic said in a statement. “I’m grateful to everybody in the organization for believing in me and I can’t wait to get started.”
