The Washington Wizards have officially waived two-way guard Jaylen Martin, per HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

Martin, 21, joined the Wizards on a two-way contract in February after a strong G League showing with the Delaware Blue Coats.

The move ends a short but productive run in Washington, where Martin appeared in 13 games and averaged 5.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 18.0 minutes per contest.

He shot 41.7% from the field and knocked down 27.3% of his threes, contributing off the bench in a developmental role for a rebuilding Wizards roster.

Despite modest NBA numbers, Martin was one of the G League’s most active scorers this past season, averaging 14.1 points and 3.7 rebounds across 20 appearances for three teams — including Delaware and the College Park Skyhawks.

His most productive stretch came with the Blue Coats, where he averaged 19.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 10 games while playing nearly 35 minutes per night.

Before reaching the NBA, Martin played for the YNG Dreamerz in Overtime Elite and helped lead the team to the league’s Championship Series in 2023.

He finished second in OTE’s Most Improved Player voting that year and turned pro without attending college, taking the alternative route to the league.

Martin originally signed a two-way deal with the New York Knicks after going undrafted in 2023 but was waived twice without logging an official appearance.

After short stints with the Knicks and Nets, he found opportunity in the G League, where his performance earned repeated two-way call-ups.
