The Toronto Raptors have officially waived center Colin Castleton, per NBA insider Michael Scotto.
Castleton, 25, appeared in 11 games for Toronto during the 2024-25 season, including four starts. He averaged 7.2 points and 6.9 rebounds in 26.2 minutes per game while shooting 50% from the field.
Toronto initially signed Castleton to a 10-day contract on March 6 before re-signing him on March 16. His deal expired on March 26, but he later returned on a two-year standard contract on April 12.
Before joining the Raptors, the Florida alum had short stints with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Philadelphia 76ers earlier in the season.
Castleton logged time with three NBA teams in 2024-25, posting 4.7 points and 4.7 rebounds across 26 total appearances. He also made an impact in the G League, averaging 17.8 points and 9.9 rebounds in 28 games split between the Osceola Magic, Memphis Hustle, and Raptors 905.
His strongest G League performance came with Osceola, where he averaged 17.4 points on 58.9% shooting and pulled down 10.6 boards per game.
Originally signed by the Los Angeles Lakers in July 2023, Castleton spent most of that season with the South Bay Lakers before suffering a right wrist fracture in March 2024. He later returned for Summer League and training camp but was waived by L.A. in October.
After brief stops with Memphis and Osceola, Castleton appeared to carve out a larger role in Toronto’s rotation late in the season. However, with the Raptors shifting their roster focus during the offseason, the organization opted to move on.
The waiver now makes Castleton an unrestricted free agent heading into the fall.
Castleton will look to secure another opportunity ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, either through training camp invites or a potential two-way deal.
