Enrique Freeman is ready to take the next step in his professional basketball career after his first season with the Indiana Pacers. Just days after the team withdrew their qualifying offer, Freeman became a free agent, signaling his entry into the open market for the first time.

The 24-year-old forward showcased his potential during the 2025 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Over five games, he averaged 16.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 71.8% from the field.

Freeman, who was selected 50th overall by the Pacers in the 2024 NBA Draft, also spent significant time with Indiana’s G League affiliate. He posted averages of 16.9 points and 9.8 rebounds over 16 games.

Despite limited minutes during his rookie NBA season—averaging 8.2 minutes over 22 games—Freeman remains optimistic about securing a contract for the upcoming year. He emphasized his ability to rebound, defend, and now add shooting to his skill set as key strengths.

“My biggest goal is to get a contract and be a steady NBA player,” Freeman stated in an interview with Spencer Davies of RG. “I think I put myself in a good position to where I’ll be somewhere soon to get a job and continue my career.”

Freeman’s rookie season included time with the Pacers, a team that made a deep playoff run to the 2025 NBA Finals. While his playing time was limited, the experience of being part of a Finals roster has been invaluable.

“I learned the IQ of the game, the high level it takes,” he said. “Never give up. I’m grateful for the year.”
