The Pacers have taken back their two-way contract offer to Enrique Freeman, making him a free agent who can sign with any team, according to Keith Smith from Spotrac.
Freeman, who will turn 25 soon, was the 50th pick in the 2024 draft. Last season, he played 22 games for Indiana, averaging 2.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in about 8 minutes per game.
Although he didn’t make a big impact in the NBA, Freeman performed well in the G League, averaging nearly 17 points, 10 rebounds, almost 3 assists, and over 1 block per game in 14 games for the Indiana Mad Ants.
He also played impressively in the Summer League, scoring around 16.6 points, grabbing 9.6 rebounds, and shooting 72.5% from the field, including over 55% from three-point range.
The Pacers already have two players, RayJ Dennis and Quenton Jackson, occupying their two-way contract spots, and it looks like their other draft pick, Taelon Peter, will take the third slot.
This left Freeman without a spot.
Even though the deadline to withdraw qualifying offers without permission passed, the Pacers were still allowed to do so if Freeman agreed, which he likely did.
Now as an unrestricted free agent, Freeman can sign with any team he wants, without Indiana having control over where he goes next.
