The Indiana Pacers have signed No. 54 draft pick Taelon Peter to a two-way contract, per Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype.
GM Chad Buchanan had previously confirmed the team’s intention to offer Peter a two-way deal, and they made room by rescinding a qualifying offer to Enrique Freeman.
Peter now joins RayJ Dennis and Quenton Jackson as the Pacers’ three two-way players.
A standout sixth man at Liberty last season, Peter averaged 13.7 points on an impressive 57.8% shooting (45.3% from three), along with 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 22.7 minutes per game.
He helped lead Liberty to a conference title and scored 8 points in their NCAA Tournament loss to Oregon.
Peter previously played three seasons at Division II Arkansas Tech. In four Summer League games with Indiana, he averaged 9.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 23.6 minutes.
“We like his off-ball play, shooting, and defensive effort,” Buchanan said of Peter’s performance in Las Vegas.
