Just days after being waived by the Lakers, veteran NBA guard Shake Milton is reportedly engaged in advanced talks with Serbian club KK Partizan, according to Meridian Sport, Telesport, and Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.com.
This potential move would mark Milton’s first time playing professional basketball overseas.
Milton, a 2018 second-round draft pick, has appeared in 359 NBA games across six teams over seven seasons. He spent the first five years of his career with the Philadelphia 76ers before moving around the league in recent seasons.
During the 2023–24 season, he played for the Timberwolves, Pistons, and Knicks, then suited up for both the Brooklyn Nets and Lakers in 2024–25. He was traded midseason to the Lakers along with Dorian Finney-Smith.
In 57 games with Brooklyn and Los Angeles last season, Milton averaged 5.5 points, 1.8 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game, shooting .453 from the field, .358 from three, and .797 from the free-throw line.
The Lakers released him to create salary cap space under the first luxury tax apron, clearing the way to sign Marcus Smart since Milton’s $3 million salary for 2025–26 was non-guaranteed.
KK Partizan, competing in both the EuroLeague and ABA League, recently won the ABA League title but struggled in EuroLeague play, finishing 16–18.
The Serbian club’s roster already includes several former NBA players such as Jabari Parker, Sterling Brown, Aleksej Pokusevski, and Frank Ntilikina, making it a strong potential landing spot for Milton as he looks to continue his career abroad.
