Dorian Finney-Smith expressed confidence in the Houston Rockets’ roster ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season. “I think we’ve got a great team, and I think we can do something special,” the forward said, according to Rockets Wire.

Finney-Smith, who joined the Rockets this July after signing a four-year, $53 million contract, highlighted the toughness and competitiveness of the team and coach Ime Udoka. “They play hard. Coach Ime is one of the toughest coaches in the league. I’ve never seen him smile much when you’re playing against him. The first time I’ve ever seen him smile was when we had dinner, like two weeks ago. I like that, because I’m a competitor.”

Known around the league for his versatile defense and dependable 3-point shooting, Finney-Smith shot 41.1% from beyond the arc last season. He averaged 7.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game during his stint with the Lakers in 2024-25 before joining Houston.

The Rockets are undergoing a significant transformation this summer, highlighted by the acquisition of Kevin Durant in a blockbuster trade. With Finney-Smith now on board, Houston aims to strengthen its defensive and perimeter shooting capabilities.

Houston also bolstered its roster by re-signing key players like Steven Adams, Jeff Green, Aaron Holiday, Jae’Sean Tate, and Fred VanVleet. The team is building depth and experience to complement its young core.
