The NBA announced today that the Toronto Raptors and Denver Nuggets will face off in a preseason matchup on October 6 in Vancouver, British Columbia, as part of the league’s annual Canada Series.

The event is part of the NBA’s ongoing effort to grow the game in Canada by bringing live action to cities beyond Toronto.

The game will come during a stretch of heightened NBA presence in Vancouver.

In addition to hosting the Raptors-Nuggets exhibition, the city is also expected to serve as the site of training camp for the Dallas Mavericks, making it a hub of preseason NBA activity.

Meanwhile, the Raptors confirmed that they will hold their own training camp in Calgary, Alberta.

Given Calgary’s relative proximity to Vancouver, the team will have a short and convenient trip west for their Canada Series appearance, making for a logistically smooth transition between training camp and preseason competition.
