After suffering a first-round playoff exit for the second year in a row, the Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley was convinced that the team needed not only roster upgrades but also fresh perspectives and experience on the coaching bench, reports Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel.

This realization prompted the Magic to bring in two seasoned assistants – God Shammgod and former Bucks assistant Joe Prunty – to bolster the staff.

“What they bring is experience,” Mosley emphasized. “They bring a level of player relationship that they’ve developed over time throughout being in the league all these years. For our staff, they continue that connectivity that we have.”

Mosley is no stranger to either coach, having previously worked with Shammgod during his time in Dallas and Prunty while in Cleveland.

He expressed enthusiasm about the unique skills and knowledge each coach will contribute to the team’s development.

“Sham will focus more on the coaching side, breaking down our offense, analyzing individual movements and player execution within plays,” Mosley explained. “Joe, on the other hand, will take on the offensive strategy, overseeing the flow and rhythm of how we run our offense.”
