Myles Turner wasn’t just a splashy free-agent signing – he was a strategic one.
Flanked by GM Jon Horst and head coach Doc Rivers at his introductory press conference, Turner listened as the Milwaukee Bucks brass explained why they pursued him so aggressively.
“We see him as a perfect fit,” said Rivers. “He’s exactly what we need to complement Giannis, but also to execute the style of basketball we’re building.”
Horst echoed the sentiment, praising Turner’s versatility on both ends of the floor.
“He brings rim protection, spacing, experience, and a high basketball IQ. He fits how we want to play – not just alongside Giannis, but with this entire core.”
Rivers emphasized that this wasn’t a short-term move.
“This isn’t about a one-year experiment. We see Myles as part of our long-term identity. His ability to defend, to stretch the floor – it’s rare.”
Turner has played 10 seasons for the Pacers. He has averaged 14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 642 regular-season games.
