Just one day after publishing an emotional farewell letter to Indiana Pacers fans, big man Myles Turner stepped into a new spotlight as the Milwaukee Bucks’ prized offseason acquisition.
For the 29-year-old center, the move marked the end of an era and the start of a fresh opportunity.
“Indiana gave me my start. I grew there. I’ll always be grateful,” Turner said. “But this is a new chapter.”
He reflected on the lessons learned in Indiana, where he grew from a lanky rookie into one of the league’s premier shot-blockers.
“We made it to the conference finals two years ago, the Finals last year. Those experiences shape you. They make you hungry for more.”
That hunger led him to Milwaukee: “I’m here because I want to compete. I want to win. I see the hunger in this group. It matches mine.”
Turner has played 10 seasons for the Pacers. He has averaged 14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 642 regular-season games.
