Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star shared three important takeaways following the Pacers’ victory in their opening game of the Las Vegas Summer League on Thursday.

Among the standout performers were two-way contract players RayJ Dennis and Quenton Jackson.

Dennis impressed with a strong all-around performance, putting up 26 points and dishing out nine assists, while Jackson was highly efficient offensively, scoring 24 points on an outstanding 8-of-10 shooting from the field.

Dopirak emphasizes that Dennis’ continued development could be particularly valuable for Indiana, as the team faces a pressing need for added depth at the point guard position.

This need is heightened by the fact that Tyrese Haliburton is expected to be sidelined for the entirety of the 2025-26 NBA season, leaving a significant gap that the Pacers will be eager to address.

Should Dennis emerge as a reliable contributor at the NBA level, it would provide a much-needed boost to the team’s backcourt options moving forward.
