VJ Edgecombe, who was selected as the No. 3 overall pick in the recent draft, missed the Philadelphia 76ers’ first game of the Las Vegas Summer League on Thursday after being diagnosed with a sprain in his left thumb.
Although he was unable to suit up for the game, Edgecombe has continued to participate in on-court workouts and drills, maintaining his involvement with the team as much as possible despite the injury.
According to a tweet from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the 76ers plan to reevaluate Edgecombe’s thumb on Saturday to assess the severity of the sprain and determine his availability for upcoming games in the Summer League.
