The Washington Wizards have re-signed 7-foot forward-center Tristan Vukcevic to a two-way contract, according to Shams Charania. The deal keeps the young big man in Washington as he enters his third NBA season.
Vukcevic, 22, made significant strides in the 2024–25 campaign, appearing in 35 games and averaging 9.4 points and 3.7 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game. He shot an efficient 49.6% from the field and improved his three-point accuracy to 37.3%.
Drafted 42nd overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Vukcevic initially signed with the Wizards in March 2024 after an impressive showing at the 2023 NBA Draft Combine. In that event, he scored 21 points in just 17 minutes, showcasing his offensive skill set.
After signing late in the 2023–24 season, the Serbian big man appeared in 10 games, averaging 8.5 points and 3.6 rebounds. He then followed it up with a more productive 2024–25 season, earning a spot in the Wizards’ rotation for stretches of the year.
Vukcevic’s new two-way contract allows him to split time between the Wizards and their G League affiliate. His development remains a key focus for Washington, which continues to rebuild around its young core.
Washington’s decision to keep Vukcevic reflects the organization’s belief in his potential to grow into a more significant role. He has now played a total of 45 NBA games across two seasons, posting career averages of 9.2 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting nearly 48.2% from the field.
