Dennis Schroder has agreed to a three-year contract worth $45 million with the Sacramento Kings. The deal includes full guarantees for the first two years, while the third year carries a partial guarantee.
The Kings were able to sign Schroder directly after making salary cap space by trading Jonas Valanciunas to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Dario Saric, avoiding the need for a sign-and-trade involving the Detroit Pistons.
Represented by Mark Bartelstein, Schroder averaged 13.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and posted a Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 12.5 last season while playing for the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, and Detroit Pistons.
He revitalized his value with strong performances during the latter part of the regular season and throughout the playoffs while with the Pistons.
Schroder is expected to fill the point guard role for the Kings following their trade of De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs.
