The Boston Celtics have agreed to terms with free agent center Luka Garza on a two-year, $5.5 million fully guaranteed contract, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
Garza, 26, was recently released by the Minnesota Timberwolves, who declined their team option on him for the 2025–26 season.
He appeared in 39 games during the 2024–25 campaign, averaging 3.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 5.6 minutes per game, shooting 49.5% from the field.
Originally drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 2021, Garza spent his first three NBA seasons with Minnesota. Over his career, he has averaged 4.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per game, with shooting splits of 49.0% from the field and 31.4% from beyond the arc.
The Celtics, who finished second in the Eastern Conference with a 61–21 record in 2024–25, add frontcourt depth by bringing in Garza.
