Before the opening round of the 2025 NBA Draft, speculation surfaced suggesting that the Utah Jazz were exploring a potential trade for Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

However, during a press conference following the first round, Jazz president of basketball operations Austin Ainge dismissed those reports, asserting that there have been no such discussions within the organization.

“Generally, I avoid commenting on rumors – it’s just how we operate – but I’ll make an exception in this case. No, that hasn’t taken place,” Ainge clarified. “There haven’t been any talks along those lines.”

The rumors were fueled in part by existing ties between Brown and key figures in the Jazz organization.

Jazz CEO Danny Ainge was the executive who originally selected Brown in the draft during his tenure with Boston, and Austin Ainge recently transitioned from a front office role with the Celtics to his new leadership position in Utah.
