The NBA has extended green room invitations to a total of 24 prospects ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft, which signals which players are most likely to be selected in the first round.
Before Thursday, 19 players had already been invited to attend the draft in person, and now, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line and Jonathan Givony of ESPN, five more names have been added to that list.
These latest additions bring the count to 24 – a number that’s expected to be final and complete.
The five new green room invitees, with ESPN Big Board rankings:
- Joan Beringer, C, Cedevita Olimpija (No. 15)
- Danny Wolf, F/C, Michigan (No. 19)
- Nique Clifford, G/F, Colorado State (No. 22)
- Walter Clayton, G, Florida (No. 27)
- Cedric Coward, G/F, Washington State (No. 29)
Among them, Danny Wolf is generating particular buzz. Per Fischer, he’s impressed lottery teams during workouts with his shooting ability, suggesting he could go earlier than expected, potentially even in the late lottery range.
What a green room invite means:
The NBA typically invites players after polling teams to identify the 25 prospects they believe will most likely be taken in the first round. So, while a green room invite is a strong indicator of draft-day expectations, it’s not a guarantee.
In fact, as Givony points out, surprises can happen – for example, Kyle Filipowski and Johnny Furphy were both invited to the green room in 2024, yet they fell into the second round, which took place a day after the first round that year.
Expectations are high for these 24 players, but as always, draft night drama remains a possibility.
