Raul LopezRaul Lopez will be playing in Russia next season after signing two-year contract with Khimki. He was brought to the club by Spanish national team head coach Sergio Scariolo who is also a head coach or Khimki. The club will make its debut in Euroleague and is trying to form a competitive roster.

Viktor Bychkov, GM of Khimki, said to the club's official website that it was a priority to sign a quality point guard as it wasn't the strongest position of Khimki last season. With the departure of Anton Ponkrashov it became even weaker.

Sergio Scariolo described Raul Lopez as a player who reads the game exceptionally well.  According to him Lopez should give the tempo to the team that is needed right now.
