The Portland Trail Blazers announced the hiring of Tiago Splitter, Patrick St. Andrews, and Quinton Crawford as assistant coaches under head coach Chauncey Billups.
The coaching additions come as the organization looks to retool after missing the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season.
Splitter returns to the NBA following a successful run as head coach of Paris Basketball. He led the French club to a national cup title and a EuroLeague playoff berth in 2024-25.
Prior to his European head coaching debut, the former NBA center served on the coaching staffs of the Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets.
Splitter, a 2014 NBA champion with the San Antonio Spurs, spent seven seasons in the league as a player. He also held national team coaching duties with Brazil.
St. Andrews brings a decade of NBA coaching and video coordination experience. Most recently, he worked two seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Before joining Memphis, he was part of the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2021 championship coaching staff and spent five years with the franchise.
He began his professional career with the Atlanta Hawks, gradually moving from video coordination roles to an assistant coach position by 2017.
Crawford arrives in Portland after guiding the Stockton Kings to the 2025 NBA G League championship in his first year as a head coach.
He has previously served as an assistant coach with the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Lakers—where he contributed to the 2020 title team.
Crawford’s background includes player development and video work with several NBA teams, including the Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic.
Portland concluded the 2024-25 season with a 36–46 record, tied with Phoenix for 11th in the West, and missed the postseason.
