The Orlando Magic are reportedly willing to trade guard Cole Anthony, forward Jonathan Isaac, and a first-round draft pick as they seek roster upgrades this offseason. This information was shared by Chris Mannix on The Kevin O’Connor Show.
Anthony, 25, played in 67 games this past season, averaging 9.4 points, 3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while shooting 42.4% from the field and 35.3% from three-point range. He has two years remaining on a three-year, $39 million contract, with a team option for the final year.
Isaac, 27, appeared in 71 games but was sidelined late in the season with a torn left adductor muscle, requiring season-ending surgery. He averaged 5.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. Isaac is entering the first year of a four-year, $59 million extension.
The Magic finished the 2024-25 season with a 41-41 record, securing the Southeast Division title and a playoff berth for the second consecutive year. However, they lost in the first round to the Boston Celtics in five games.
Orlando’s management appears focused on improving the roster to avoid a repeat early playoff exit. Packaging Anthony, Isaac, and a first-round pick could provide the flexibility needed to acquire a more impactful player.
With the team locked into a playoff spot but struggling to advance, this move could signal a shift toward a more competitive future. The Magic aim to add a player who can contribute immediately and help deepen their roster.
Anthony’s shooting ability and Isaac’s defensive potential are attractive assets but may not fit the long-term direction Orlando is targeting. Trading these pieces could bring in a player with a more defined role.
