The Boston Celtics are reportedly entertaining trade inquiries for veteran guard Jrue Holiday, according to Marc Stein.

In a recent post on his Substack, Stein wrote, “Boston is most definitely listening on calls for Jrue Holiday, sources say.”

Holiday, 34, has publicly expressed his desire to stay with the Celtics. After their second-round playoff exit against the New York Knicks, the former All-Star told reporters he wants to remain part of the team’s championship window.

Despite finishing with a 61–21 record, the Celtics were eliminated in six games by New York. Holiday averaged 9.5 points and 4.0 assists in the postseason.

He was a key defensive piece throughout the regular season, contributing 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists across 62 games.

Boston acquired Holiday in the 2023 offseason as part of a blockbuster trade with the Portland Trail Blazers. His arrival was seen as the final piece of a title-contending roster.

The Celtics entered the 2025 playoffs aiming to repeat as NBA champions for the first time since 1969. However, they failed to close out several late-game leads in the Knicks series.

Holiday has three years remaining on a four-year, $134 million contract he signed last offseason. The final year of the deal is a player option.

While his future in Boston is now uncertain, the team’s willingness to entertain offers may reflect broader offseason recalibrations after a disappointing finish.
