Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday expressed his desire to remain with the team following their second-round playoff loss to the New York Knicks.

Speaking during his end-of-season media availability, Holiday acknowledged the team’s disappointment but reaffirmed his belief in their potential.

“I think we have a—we still have a really, really great opportunity and a great window to be successful and win a championship again,” he said. “The opportunity to win is now, and I still want to be a part of that.”

Holiday, 34, completed the first year of a four-year, $134 million contract, with the final season being a player option.

He appeared in 62 regular season games during the 2024–25 campaign, averaging 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 30.6 minutes per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the field.

In the postseason, Holiday posted 9.5 points and 4.0 assists over eight games, as Boston fell to New York in six contests.

“We had the best team in the league,” he said when asked whether the series felt like a missed opportunity. “We felt like we let the organization down and the city down.”

The Celtics finished the regular season with a 61–21 record, second in the Eastern Conference, and entered the playoffs aiming for back-to-back titles for the first time since 1969.

Holiday noted that while Boston often led during games in the Knicks series, they failed to capitalize in key moments.

“I think most of the games that we actually played, we were up quite a bit,” he said. “Sometimes you kind of figure things happen, and it didn’t really go our way.”

Asked about his health, Holiday said he had recovered from a finger injury sustained prior to the postseason and would not require surgery.

“The bone healed, so I’m fine,” he said.

Holiday declined to speculate on potential roster changes but emphasized his approach to the offseason.

“Who comes back, roster change and things like that—it’s not really in my control,” he said. “So I just focus on what I can.”
