The Portland Trail Blazers have traded Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Robert Williams, Malcolm Brogdon, a 2024 first-round pick from the Golden State Warriors, and a 2029 unprotected first-round pick.

Holiday originally came to the Blazers as part of the Damian Lillard trade.

Portland intends to retain Williams but might explore trading Brogdon separately, given their commitment to their young guards Scoot Henderson, Anfernee Simons, and Shaedon Sharpe.

The Celtics had acquired Brogdon from the Indiana Pacers in the 2022 offseason and had considered trading him in June as part of a deal involving Kristaps Porzingis.
