Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis recently opened up about his ongoing health concerns following his team’s elimination from the second round of the NBA playoffs at the hands of the New York Knicks.

Speaking candidly in a post-series interview, Porzingis revealed that despite undergoing numerous medical evaluations, doctors have yet to definitively diagnose the illness affecting him.

He acknowledged that the uncertainty has been frustrating but expressed optimism that a period of rest and recovery could significantly improve his condition.

However, that period of rest may be short-lived. Porzingis has announced his intention to represent Latvia in the upcoming EuroBasket 2025 tournament later this summer.

His commitment to play for his national team underscores his dedication and desire to return to full form on the international stage.

This marks a significant opportunity for Porzingis, who was forced to miss Latvia’s previous campaign during the Olympic qualifiers due to a lengthy recovery from ankle surgery.

Latvia, which will serve as one of the host countries for EuroBasket 2025, is expected to have a strong showing in front of their home fans.

They have been placed in a competitive group that includes established basketball nations such as Serbia and Turkey, as well as Czechia, Estonia, and Portugal.

The group stage will present a challenging but exciting test for Latvia as they aim to advance deep into the tournament.

EuroBasket 2025 is scheduled to take place from August 27 to September 14, featuring top talent from across Europe.

For Porzingis, it offers a chance not only to compete at a high level but also to reconnect with his roots and help elevate Latvian basketball on a major international platform.
