Despite James Harden’s inconsistent playoff performance, including a disappointing seven-point outing in the Game 7 loss to the Denver Nuggets, the Los Angeles Clippers have publicly expressed their support for the veteran guard.

As noted by Law Murray of The Athletic, the Clippers organization remains appreciative of Harden’s contributions throughout the regular season, even though his postseason performance left much to be desired.

Clippers president of basketball operations, Lawrence Frank, acknowledged the challenges that come with asking so much from Harden, particularly at this stage of his career.

“We really asked James to do a lot,” Frank stated. “And at his age, to deliver what he did… 79 games. And he does that time and time and time again. We have a deep appreciation for that sort of availability and to be able to deliver and do what he did.”

Frank emphasized Harden’s durability and ability to play through a long and grueling season, which is often underappreciated.

Despite the tough playoff exit, where Harden took just eight field goal attempts in the Game 7 loss to the Nuggets, the Clippers continue to recognize the effort and leadership he has provided throughout the season, even if his playoff performance didn’t live up to expectations.
