The Sacramento Kings are actively working to restructure their front office and coaching staff as part of their ongoing efforts to improve the franchise.
Already, they’ve made notable additions, bringing in B.J. Armstrong as the assistant general manager and Mike Woodson as the lead assistant coach, both of whom are expected to play key roles in shaping the team’s future.
In addition to these moves, there are strong indications that former player and coach Bobby Jackson, who has deep ties to the Kings, will rejoin the organization as an assistant coach.
While a report on Wednesday suggested that Jackson will be returning to Sacramento, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee pointed out that no official deal has been reached yet.
According to Anderson, while it seems likely Jackson will return, the Kings have not formally requested permission from the Philadelphia 76ers, where Jackson is currently serving as an assistant coach, nor have there been any official talks at this stage.
On the front office side, it’s been confirmed that several key executives will remain with the team.
Phil Jabour, the vice president of player personnel, Paul Johnson, the vice president of player development, and Alvin Gentry, the vice president of basketball engagement, will all continue their roles with Sacramento as the franchise progresses with its new leadership structure.
Vice president of basketball engagement Alvin Gentry will remain with the Kings, plus more notes from the Pacific. https://t.co/A8SObVh2Y7
