New York Knicks big man Julius Randle credits former New Orleans Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry for encouraging him to shoot the ball from three-point land.

(via New York Knicks):

“I always worked really hard on shooting the ball, so it was just really more of an opportunity. When I got to New Orleans, Alvin Gentry really encouraged me to shoot the ball. He really wanted me to take threes, and that was the first year I really started taking threes and not looking over my shoulder when I shot them. So that’s when I started really believing in and working on trusting the work that I put in. And then from there, it’s just a year in and year out process.”
