New York Knicks shooting guard Miles McBride made his return to the court on Sunday after being sidelined for eight games due to a groin injury.

His return, along with Jalen Brunson’s comeback and Cameron Payne’s recent recovery from a sprained ankle, has created a logjam in the Knicks’ backcourt.

As James L. Edwards III highlights, this sudden abundance of guards puts head coach Tom Thibodeau in a tough position when it comes to allocating playing time among his roster.

On Sunday, Thibodeau opted for a nine-man rotation, with Landry Shamet filling the final spot in the lineup.

Notably, Delon Wright, who had been starting in place of Brunson and Payne during their absences, did not see any minutes.

Additionally, Precious Achiuwa, who has been a regular contributor as a backup big man for much of the season, was also left out of the rotation entirely.

With a crowded backcourt and only limited playing time to go around, Thibodeau will have to make some challenging decisions in the coming games about which players to feature, especially with the playoffs on the horizon.

Managing minutes and ensuring players are in the right roles could be crucial for the Knicks’ success as they aim to close out the regular season strong.
