As the regular season draws to a close, the Los Angeles Clippers have already shifted into playoff mode, fully focused on securing a top-six spot in the Western Conference to avoid the pressure of the play-in tournament.
According to Broderick Turner of The Los Angeles Times, the Clippers have been on a roll, winning 10 of their last 12 games, and are currently tied for the sixth seed.
With each game feeling more critical, Ivica Zubac shared his thoughts on the team’s mindset as they approach the final stretch of the season.
“Everyone is treating every game like the playoffs. Honestly, it’s fun,” Zubac said, emphasizing the intensity and excitement surrounding the team’s current situation.
He also praised the NBA’s introduction of the play-in tournament, which has added an extra layer of competition for teams battling for playoff spots.
“I think what the NBA did with that play-in, I think it’s a really good thing. It’s very competitive and it’s been good,” Zubac continued.
For the Clippers, the past few weeks have been filled with high stakes and thrilling matchups.
“The last few weeks have been fun,” Zubac reflected. “You just kind of lock in, treat it as a playoff game, a must-win, and I’m sure other teams are like that too.”
As the team continues its push for a secure playoff spot, this high-intensity, playoff-like atmosphere has become the norm for Los Angeles, keeping players and fans alike on edge.
