The Jazz announced several injury updates on Wednesday, including that rookie forward Cody Williams will miss the rest of the 2024/25 season after testing positive for mononucleosis.

He will be reevaluated in three weeks before starting off-season conditioning.

Williams, the 10th overall pick last year, has struggled in his first season, averaging 4.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 50 games with poor shooting percentages.

Meanwhile, John Collins, out since March 12 due to a left ankle sprain, will ramp up his rehab and be reevaluated in a week.

Lauri Markkanen, who has been out since March 17 with a knee issue, will undergo off-court rehab and be reevaluated in 7-10 days.

Though neither Collins nor Markkanen has been ruled out for the season, it’s unlikely either will return as the Jazz are prioritizing their draft position with a 16-60 record.

Young players like Kyle Filipowski, Brice Sensabaugh, and Oscar Tshiebwe are expected to take on larger roles in the final games.
