Kevin Durant exited the Phoenix Suns’ game against the Houston Rockets during the third quarter after sustaining a sprained left ankle.

The Suns ultimately suffered a heavy 148-109 defeat.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer confirmed that Durant is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday to assess the severity of the injury.

As a result, he will not accompany the team on their upcoming three-game road trip, which begins in Milwaukee on Tuesday.

The injury occurred when Durant collided with Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr. and appeared to land awkwardly on Smith’s foot.

At the time of his departure, Durant had recorded 11 points and eight rebounds.
