Center Drew Timme, who recently inked a two-year contract with the Brooklyn Nets, made a strong first impression in his NBA regular season debut on Friday.

Coming off the bench, the former Gonzaga standout delivered an impressive double-double performance, tallying 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in just 25 minutes of action.

His contributions, though not enough to change the outcome of the game, provided a glimpse of his potential at the professional level. Brian Lewis of The New York Post highlighted Timme’s impact and shared the 24-year-old’s candid thoughts on the experience.

“I was nervous as crap out there. But it was awesome. It was a dream come true,” Timme admitted, reflecting on the emotions of stepping onto an NBA court for the first time. “And I like this feeling. I don’t want it to end. So I got to keep working hard so I can keep doing this.”

While Timme’s performance was a bright spot, another Brooklyn player also marked a milestone in the same game. Tyson Etienne, a 25-year-old guard currently signed to a two-way contract with the Nets, took the floor for his first NBA action as well.

The New Jersey native had the bonus of playing in front of friends and family, making the moment even more special despite the team’s tough loss to the Clippers.

Etienne contributed eight points and one assist in just 10 minutes of play, providing a spark in limited action. Lewis noted that while the Nets struggled overall, these debuts served as a silver lining for a team looking to develop its young talent.
