Here’s Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra on Tyler Herro’s recent high-level play off the ball (averaging 28.8 PPG/3.8 RPG/5.3 APG/1.3 SPG/0.5 PF/66.7% FG/62.5% 3-PT/94.1% FT/+14.8 +/- over the last four games).
(via Miami Heat):
“He’s playing so patiently without the ball. It’s really slowing down for him. The more aggressive you are, he’ll just play off the ball. He’s playing less and less bringing the ball up the court and running an angle pick-and-roll. He’s playing off the catch. He’s playing off of overreactions. And he’s so skilled if you’re getting him on the move like that: he’s a handful, and he’s burning a lot less calories doing it as well. Guys are getting more comfortable getting him the ball when he’s on the move.”
