After dropping four consecutive games and eight of their last ten, the Sacramento Kings are struggling to close out the 2024-25 regular season on a strong note.

Their recent slump has sparked frustration within the team, and newly acquired guard Zach LaVine didn’t hold back when assessing the mood in the locker room.

Per Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee, LaVine openly addressed the energy surrounding the team following Monday’s loss to the Boston Celtics, stating that the atmosphere was far from positive.

“The vibe is not good,” LaVine admitted. “It shouldn’t be. We’re not happy with the way we’ve been performing individually and as a group.”

However, interim head coach Doug Christie pushed back against LaVine’s characterization, offering a different perspective on the team’s mindset during their losing skid.

“He was incorrect,” Christie countered. “I think when you ask a question like that when you go through a little bit of a losing streak, it’s more about not being happy that you lost, like I’m upset that I lost.”

As the Kings fight to regain momentum, the disconnect between LaVine’s blunt assessment and Christie’s response highlights the tension that can arise when a team finds itself in a late-season slump.
